Jena lifts Falcon Open golf title

Trailokya Jena emerged champion in the All-Orissa Falcon Open Golf Tournament, which was hosted by Bhubaneswar Golf Club at the BGC course in Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar on April 10 and 11. In the stroke-play event, featuring 85 golfers from five clubs, Jena (BGC) top scored with 52 in the main (0 to 18 handicap) category, while Rajnish Das finished runner-up with a score of 52.

Ranjit Singh lived upto his reputation as the most consistent golfer of the state, winning the best gross trophy with a score of 60. Host BGC asserted its supremacy, bagging eight out of nine prizes. Abhrant Upadhyay (BGC) and R C Jena (Brahmani Golf Club) were the winner and runner-up respectively in the 19 to 24 handicap category, scoring 55 and 57.

In the veterans category, B K Das (BGC, score 59) won the title, while Brig N Nayak (BGC, score 63) settled with the runner-up prize. Lakhi Swain (BGC, score 51) emerged winner in the ladies category, ahead of clubmate Alka Taneja, who finished runner-up with a score of 59.
